Transitions

Back in 2014 when we started Luminous Botanicals in the back of Devan's garage, we thought that there would always be a place for quality craft cannabis in the Oregon marketplace. Our intention was never to get wealthy or grow big - instead we wanted to build an exemplary company that made the best quality medicinal cannabis products while paying our employees a living wage with generous benefits, and committing fully to ethical, earth-friendly values. For the first 5 years, it worked.

Sadly, today that dream feels impossible. The Oregon cannabis market is in a troubled state, suffering from a convergence of factors including massive oversupply, unconstrained market manipulation by out-of-state operators, and the unfortunate economic reality of a global pandemic and the inflation that has followed.

We are rapidly facing a significant transition here at Luminous, as we simply can not afford to operate for much longer. It weighs heavily on our hearts, as we love this work, and we know that so many of you depend on our products to live your best lives.

We'd love to keep our products on the market, so if you know of a company or investor that would be interested in acquiring our brand and IP please reach out to us directly.

While our products are not going to disappear from dispensary shelves next week, it might be a good idea to stock up now if Luminous is a regular part of your life.

We feel a deep sense of gratitude for each of you that has been a part of our journey and learned with us along the way. Thank you.

Be well,

Devan and Sally

PS. Luminous Botanicals took home our fifth 1st-place finish in the Willamette Week's Best of Portland reader poll last month. We were a finalist in four categories - our best showing ever.

We are grateful and humbled to have our business recognized with this honor, even if it comes at such a challenging time. Thank you for your votes!
